Advanced Systems Group (ASG) has appointed Peter Thordarson to the newly created role of Technical Account Executive, strengthening its technical sales and client advisory capabilities.

Thordarson, who brings nearly four decades of experience in broadcast media engineering, management and enterprise production, will report directly to Claudia Souza, Chief Innovation Officer at ASG.

In his new role, Thordarson will serve as both a client advocate and sales-technical expert, working closely with customers to align their business goals with forward-looking technical strategies. His remit includes helping clients optimise workflows and adopt best practices, while acting as a key link between ASG’s teams and its customers to ensure consistent delivery across projects.

Thordarson's career includes senior roles at major organisations such as Microsoft, FOX Network, FOX Sports, DirecTV Sports and Ericsson (MediaKind). At Microsoft, he played a key role in architecting advanced broadcast workflows for digital-first corporate events.

"I'm most excited that a critical part of my job is to stay on top of the latest technology offerings in broadcast and media storytelling," explained Thordarson. "And I'm thrilled to join this well respected ASG team and bring my experience to bear. It's an exciting time for broadcast and production technology, and I look forward to helping our clients tell their stories."

Souza said Thordarson's appointment would bring significant value to ASG's client base. "His 40 years of experience allows him to understand each client’s unique challenges and communicate with them on a level that goes far beyond typical sales roles. He grasps the engineering realities of live production and can give clear guidance on the optimal solutions. I'm 100 percent confident that Peter will be a huge contributor to ASG’s continued success."
