Fremantle has appointed Ben Crompton as its new Global Head of Entertainment, with the executive set to take up the role later this month.

Crompton will report directly to Jennifer Mullin, Global CEO, and succeeds Andrew Llinares, who is stepping down from the position.

He joins Fremantle from NBCUniversal, where he most recently served as Vice President of International Unscripted, overseeing the development of formats, intellectual property and third-party projects in collaboration with global producers and talent.

Crompton brings extensive experience in creating and delivering international formats. Prior to his role at NBCUniversal, he led the US operations of Lime Pictures as Executive Vice President, delivering shows including Dance Monsters, True Love or True Lies, Dating No Filter and Who Do You Believe?. His career also includes senior roles at Warner Bros., Eyeworks and ITV Studios.

Jennifer Mullin welcomed the appointment, highlighting Crompton’s industry and commercial expertise.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ben to Fremantle. He is a business-minded leader with a deep understanding of the industry, not only from a development and production perspective, but also from a commercial and strategic viewpoint. I look forward to working closely with Ben and our hugely talented team at this extremely exciting time for our business - as we build on our successes and continuing to push the creative boundaries together."

Crompton said he was looking forward to joining the company and working with its global teams.

"It is a great honour for me to be joining Fremantle and to work with Jennifer and such a brilliant team. I have long admired Fremantle - a company known for creativity, innovation, and groundbreaking formats. I can't wait to get started and collaborate with the exceptional talent across the Fremantle business."

The appointment comes during a period of growth for Fremantle’s entertainment division, which delivered 345 commissions across 62 territories in 2025. The company also recently unveiled an expanded slate of new formats at the London Screenings, including titles such as HITSTER, Handcuffed, Special Delivery, Hole in One and The Advent Calendar.
