Gravity Media Bolsters Middle East Operations With Technical Manager Appointment

News Image
Gravity Media has enhanced its Middle East footprint by naming Mohamed Abouelkhair as Technical Manager and positioning three outside broadcast (OB) trucks in the region: NOVA 101, Nova 109 and SIRIUS 303.

With more than 15 years' experience across broadcast, technology and communications, Abouelkhair brings extensive hands-on engineering expertise and leadership. His background includes roles within multinational and local organisations spanning manufacturing, broadcast services and TV, alongside strong vendor relationships and the delivery of technical training programmes to develop emerging broadcast engineers.

The move follows Gravity Media Arabia's delivery of The Six Kings Slam, a premier men's tennis exhibition produced by IMG. Staged at the ANB Arena in Riyadh from 15th–18th October as part of Riyadh Season, the tournament achieved its first-ever global live stream on Netflix.

Gravity Media supplied full technical production facilities and crew, deploying its UHD OB unit NOVA 101. The multi-camera production incorporated RED V‑Raptor cinematic systems, Canon Cine‑servo lenses and Sony HDC series cameras, supported by a 45-strong technical team across vision, audio, RF and engineering.

Martyn Edwards, Managing Director for the Middle East at Gravity Media, commented: "This is a hugely exciting time for Gravity Media in the Middle East. The region's appetite for world-class live events continues to grow, and our investment in new technology and local expertise ensures we’re perfectly positioned to deliver. With Mohamed joining the team, we're deepening our technical capability and building even stronger foundations for future growth."

Mohamed Abouelkhair, newly appointed Technical Manager at Gravity Media, said: "Joining Gravity Media at such a dynamic point in its regional growth is a proud moment. The Middle East is fast becoming a global hub for live production innovation, and I'm excited to play a part in driving that forward. With the deployment of NOVA 101 and SIRIUS 303, and a talented team of engineers behind them, we're well-equipped to deliver the next generation of production and broadcast excellence across the region."
