Samyang Launches New XEEN Premium Lenses

News Image
Samyang has launched the new XEEN Premium lenses.

Exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Holdan, the XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 and XEEN Meister 35mm T1.3, 50mm T1.3 and 85mm T1.3 models form Samyang's new range of XEEN Premium lenses.

New XEEN horizon: XEEN Anamorphic and XEEN Meister
The XEEN brand of cine primes was the first range of speciality video & cinema lenses released by Samyang Optics back in 2015. Since then, XEEN has expanded the world's imaging market with exceptional image quality, precision optical technology and unique special coating technology. Following 6 years of in-depth research and communication with customers, Samyang is now meeting the demands of more cinematographers by launching its new premium XEEN lens line-up. This includes the XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 and XEEN Meister 35mm T1.3, 50mm T1.3 and 85mm T1.3 models. These new premium XEEN lenses cover full frame and larger sensors, designed for high-end digital cinematography.
The XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 lens will be available in PL mount only, while XEEN Meister lenses will be available in PL mount, Sony E mount and Canon EF mount.

XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3
Full-Frame 50mm 2x anamorphic lens for high-end digital cinematography
The XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 opens up endless new creative opportunities, making possible shots that would have previously been considered impossible. This new XEEN Anamorphic lens covers full-frame and larger sensors and will be available in PL mount.
The important and distinguishing visual facet of anamorphic images is the appearance of out-of-focus background elements or bokeh. The newly developed iris with 15 aperture blades, creates perfectly oval and evenly illuminated out-of-focus highlights. This ensures a pleasing bokeh that filmmakers will enjoy manipulating creatively. After being de-squeezed, the XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 lens covers 2.55:1 original cinema-scope ratio on full-frame 35mm sensors.
The XEEN Anamorphic 50mm T2.3 features a Ø114mm, non-rotating front diameter, which is ideal for use with a 4x5 Matte Box. The front barrel features the use of carbon fibre, which not only adds to the rigidity of the lens, but also adds a sense of luxury. In addition, the ultra-bright luminous scales allow convenient use in dimly lit environments.

Fastest T1.3 cine lens, supporting 8K & i Technology
XEEN Meister lenses enable cinematographers to create beautiful, consistent, and controlled flare in the image, whilst maintaining contrast and avoiding transmission loss. With 8K support and unique X-coating technology, the lenses and internal light reflections can be effectively controlled to create a distinctive look, with flare and ghosting for dramatic effects. They maximise the delicate emotions of the subject and show rich depiction.
XEEN Meister lenses are colour-matched across the full range and feature super-bright T-stops of T1.3. The 13 aperture blades produce excellent low light performance and beautiful bokeh. PL-mount versions also include the i Technology protocol, whereby users with compatible cameras can see and record lens metadata such as focal length, aperture and focus distance.
The lens scales are luminous and each lens has 300° of focus rotation, which helps in creating accurate focus pulls. The focus scales themselves are angled to make it easier to confirm settings, even when viewing the lens from the side. Robust and built using titanium, these high-quality premium cinematography lenses are ready to fit onto a selection of lens mounts, adding elegance through future-oriented design.
