Irdeto To Launch Graduate Cybersecurity Program

Irdeto is launching a graduate cybersecurity program to develop the next generation of cybersecurity talent.

Welcoming graduates this October, Irdeto's two-year cybersecurity graduate program will recruit top talent, providing students with hands-on experience in DevSecOps, customer delivery, middleware, product development and testing, and cybersecurity enforcement, in addition to supporting its African Wildlife Foundation initiative, aimed at combat poaching and wildlife crimes online. The program, which will be headquartered in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, and New Delhi, India, will build the next generation of cybersecurity professionals to strengthen the industry in fighting the ever-evolving security threats across the board.

"Currently there is a severe shortfall in ready-to-work cybersecurity talent worldwide, and organizations are battling to find workers to meet the demands of the proliferating threat landscape," said Shane McCarthy, COO of Video Entertainment at Irdeto. "Through this program, we’re excited to provide aspiring cybersecurity professionals with the tools, relationships, education and experiences necessary to both flourish and drive change throughout the entire cybersecurity industry. We look forward to welcoming our first group of graduates later this year."

The cybersecurity industry faces a severe workers shortage despite the unprecedented number of threats. According to Cybersecurity Ventures, there will be 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally by 2021, which is up from one million in 2014. Through this program, Irdeto will provide new graduates with real-life on the job opportunities to contribute to multiple cybersecurity initiatives through a rotation through a variety of career paths within the engineering field aimed at developing well-rounded cybersecurity professionals who will contribute positively to the industry over their careers.

Participant benefits of this graduate program include the opportunity to:
• Learn multiple areas of engineering with hands-on experience – from build to delivery
• Work with different teams on a variety of different projects within the global Engineering department
• Build friendships and expand networks with fellow graduates based on shared experiences while create a defined career path at an innovative global cybersecurity company.

With over 50 years of expertise in digital security, Irdeto is the well-established and reliable partner to build a secure future where people can embrace connectivity without fear. The long heritage in cybersecurity provides Irdeto with a strong understanding of the digital landscape which has helped to develop a wide offering of solutions and products with a long and solid track record.
