Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity Expands SITLine ETH-XL Encryptors

News Image
Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity has broadened its SITLine ETH-XL Layer 2 network encryptor range to address growing bandwidth demands and to enable more flexible, consolidated architectures in security‑critical settings.

The updated solutions are available now.

Built on a modular hardware design, SITLine ETH-XL supports throughput up to 100 Gbit/s. The SITLine ETH-XL 8x10G variant delivers eight 10 Gbit/s ports in a 1U chassis, significantly boosting port density while cutting rack footprint. This allows efficient deployment of powerful high‑speed links with an eye to future scalability.

Operating at Layer 2, the SITLine family provides low‑latency encryption suited to fully meshed network topologies.

The latest expansion introduces flexible port configuration to match diverse network needs. New 8 × 10 Gbit/s and 4 × 10 Gbit/s options complement the existing 2 × 100 Gbit/s device, making the platform suitable for data centres, backbone connections and regional distribution sites.

Organisations with many locations and heightened security requirements can map different bandwidths on a single platform to streamline and consolidate infrastructure. The update also adds support for link aggregation (LAG), allowing multiple ports on the SITLine ETH-XL to be bundled for aggregated links.

For day‑to‑day operations, an integrated display presents key status and operating information on the device, simplifying administration and maintenance while enhancing transparency in data centre environments.

The SITLine product family is approved by the BSI for VS-NfD, EU & NATO RESTRICTED. The new variant is post‑quantum cryptography (PQC) ready and prepared for quantum key distribution (QKD), supporting the build‑out of sustainably secure network infrastructures.

"With the expansion of the SITLine ETH-XL, we offer our customers a powerful response to increasing bandwidth requirements and the desire for efficient consolidation," said Ralf Koenzen, Managing Director, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity. "The modular architecture up to 100 Gbit/s creates the basis for future-proof and highly available networks."
