CHILDREN’S FILM AND TV AWARDS MOVE TO NEW DATE

THE most prestigious date in the children’s entertainment calendar, The British Academy Children’s Film and Television Awards in association with the LEGO Company is moving to the new date of December 2, 2001.
The Academy have moved the Awards from its original date of November 4, 2001 to accommodate the worldwide film premiere of ‘Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone’, which is taking place on the same day.
BAFTA’s Chief Executive, Amanda Berry, said, “There is a wealth of talent and creativity in the children’s film and television industries - our awards have always recognised excellence in the children’s market. Each year the amount of entries grows, proving what an important part children’s programming plays in the entertainment industry”.
Now in its sixth year, the Awards celebrate and honour the very best of film and television for the younger audience. The star-studded event will take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane. (CD)
