Griff Rhys Jones Awards The National Film And Television School With A Civic Trust Commendation

Presenter and author Griff Rhys Jones has presented the National Film and Television School (NFTS) by Glenn Howells Architects with a commendation in this year's Civic Trust Awards.
Jones presented awards for the best new buildings and renovations in the British Isles.
Over 100 locations across the country won Civic Trust Awards at a ceremony at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium in North London.
The Civic Trust Awards originally attracted over 400 entrants and the winners are projects that are recognised as culturally, socially or economically beneficial and make an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the environment.
Winners ranged from large projects, such as the refurbishment of St Pancras Station, London to smaller, community led schemes like Clavell Tower, in Kimmeridge, Dorset.
Griff Rhys Jones said: "The Civic Trust is here to encourage imaginative solutions to built environment challenges. We need good restoration, imaginative new building and proper regard for the spaces we all share. The Civic Trust Awards are a terrific opportunity to recognise the good work that is being done and I congratulate the winning schemes, which look good, feel good and enhance their local communities."
