4K & IP Fibre Transport Took Front & Centre IBC2017
Big news! Bluebell earned an EmmyAward from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for pioneering development of SDI over fibre optic networks. Serial Digital Video signal transport over fibre is commonplace today because of those developments way back when.
Bluebell's innovation continues and judging by our IBC stand this year, developments are still ahead of the curve. With 4K UHD taken hold and SMPTE ST 2110 approved at the show, Bluebell saw significant interest in its IP and 4K UHD solutions. Here are a few of them, in case you missed the show:
Rack-Mountable One-Cable 12G-SDI Connectivity for 4K Broadcast Applications
Bluebell's suite of fibre optic transport products provides a single coax or fibre connection to a 12 Gbps SDI video interface for 4K/UHD applications. For example, the newly upgraded BN390 unit combines four 3G-SDI signals onto one 12G-SDI signal via single-mode fibre output.
Edgware Throw-Down IP Gateway
Edgware wraps a 3G-SDI picture into an IP-compliant format and sits on a 10G Ethernet network. The unit serves as a bridge between current 3G-SDI-based broadcast infrastructures and those built on IP technology, making it possible to use BNC and XLR technology to transport broadcast signals over IP networks.
Hothead Silhouette Power Insertion for Robotic Cameras
Hothead Silhouette is a self-powered, self-contained 4K UHD robotic head system that provides power and control to the camera head and fibre optic connectivity for the remote-control panel. As a result, operators need no longer deal with venue power and the problems that comes with it.
