PlayBox Technology To Exhibit At BroadcastAsia 2017

PlayBox Technology has announced that it will exhibit at BroadcastAsia 2017, 23 – 25 May at the Suntec Centre, Singapore.

Making its BroadcastAsia debut will be PlayBox Neo TS Time Delay, a new UDP/RTP data delay server configurable for single-channel or multi-channel time-zone playout. It is also suitable for installation in disaster recovery facilities. Each server can deliver up to 10 separately-timed outputs from a single source stream. Delay can be adjusted in quarter-minute increments up to a maximum dependent on the specified storage capacity and the input bitrate. A zero-delay output from each input channel can also be accessed. The server handles compressed DVB/ATSC and is fully transparent to all data in the signal stream. Operating features include programme information display and error-logging. Control is via standard Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Also new to the Asia market is SocialMediaBox Neo which enables production and presentation creatives to incorporate comments from multiple social network feeds into a single ready-for-broadcast data stream. Based on the SocialMediaBox, the Neo version includes a new Facebook API implementation, the ability to re-use archived feeds plus the display of 'likes' for each post.

There will also be more than 40 new features for other modules in the Neo series unveiled to visitors at BroadcastAsia 2017. These features include the ability to integrate ProductionAirBox Neo with the Associated Press ENPS news production system via MOS gateway. Among other additions are extended control features, expanded file handling capabilities, greater input and output connectivity and Microsoft Windows 10 compatibility, all of which have been implemented within an informative and intuitive graphic interface.

Among new CloudAir features making their first BroadcastAsia appearance will be a transcoder capable of handling multiple file wrappers and formats including MPEG PS/TS, MXF, QT, AVI, MP4, GXF, MPG2, H.264, ProRes, DNX HD and MJPEG. An enhanced graphics editor template preparation interface will also be launched, as well as improved playlist editing, advanced playlist export to EPGs and automated linking of stored assets.

"We are geared to meet the demands of broadcasters and playout service-providers in whatever workflow style they prefer and for SD, HD or UHD content delivery," Desmon Goh comments. "Our product offerings range from traditional local-server systems based on AirBox Neo, software-as-a-service solutions based on CloudAir or – most powerful of all – server/cloud hybrids. These can be combined to provide an unsurpassed range of choice both for playout and for offsite emergency-recovery. As ever, PlayBox Technology is about freedom-of-choice and operational efficiency and about minimising the need for expensive dedicated studio-to-transmitter links."

At this year's show, PlayBox Technology will be represented by CEO Pavlin Rahnev, Desmon Goh, and colleagues from the company's offices around the world. PlayBox Technology will exhibit on stand 4J3-01.
