ITN Archive acquire new African news collection

ITN Archive have added a wealth of new Africa-related material to their current holdings.
The new collection has been built up over period of 40 years and covers all aspects of African history, politics, environment and culture.
ITN Archive already holds a substantial amount of material on Africa but the new collection adds even greater depth with material on events and subjects that would not have been broadcast outside of Africa. These extensive news rushes and extremely rare items will be invaluable to producers who wish to cover topics relating to this diverse continent in depth. The new collection is now available to clients all over the world through all of ITN Archive’s offices.
The new collection includes: Rare footage of South Africa’s Apartheid era, including township violence and ‘one man one vote’ marches; Dramatic rushes of the Mozambique floods; Footage of the Rwandan Genocide; Film of conflicts, including Lesotho and Sierra Leone and from the natural world, beautiful footage of giant sea turtles, dolphins, rhinos and whales
This initiative also sees the opening of a new ITN Archive office in Johannesburg, which for the first time makes ITN Archive’s entire holdings truly accessible for South African clients.
