Canon release high performance HJ17eX7.7B lens

Built with environment-friendly materials, the new Canon HJ17eX7.7B improves on the specifications of the HJ16X8B which it replaces with a 1X greater zoom ratio, 7.7mm wide angle and focal length range of 7.7 - 131mm (15.4 - 262mm with 2X extender).
At the same time, the HJ17eX7.7B offers other important advantages. Optical performance is improved with a wider macro range, more contrast and better corner resolution through the full zoom and focus range - from close to infinity and wide to tele.
As with all the new e-HDXS series lenses, the HJ17eX7.7B is capable of a 0.5 second zoom speed and has the digital drive enhancements of an LCD Information Display and Digital Function Selector.
This provides greater ease of operation and more versatility by allowing camera operators to programme the lens to suit individual requirements.
There’s a Focus Preset function that can be combined with two Framing Presets; Speed Preset and Zoom Tracking; AUX 1 and AUX 2 switches which extend user-defined functions; and a facility for setting precise, predefined zoom and focus curves.
