2wcom Unveils Products For ANGA COM

2wcom, manufacturer and supplier of professional broadcast products in the fields of FM, RDS, DAB, DAB+, DVB-S, DVB-S2 and DVB-T, has confirmed it will showcase a number of products at ANGA COM 2015.

The products include:

• MM01 Audio over IP Contribution/Distribution Solution
2wcom's MM01 is a compact multi-role solution for audio over IP contribution and distribution. Targeted primarily at studio-transmitter link applications, MM01 is designed for versatility, providing advanced redundancy capability and monitoring functions, with the ability to integrate into diverse infrastructures. The MM01's audio synchronisation, delivered to microsecond accuracy, also makes it suitable for applications where precise timing is essential, such as SFN FM networks. Offering support for the most widely-used audio codecs including AAC and eAPTX, the MM01 also supports dual streaming and Pro MPEG FEC – standardised mechanisms for overcoming IP limitations when they occur.

• MPX over E1/IP Solution
Delivers CAPEX savings because less equipment is required – no stereo-generator or RDS encoder are needed at the FM-TX sites. The FM-MPX signal can be produced and distributed from one central location (Play-Out Center). The solution also creates cost savings in infrastructure as less space is needed at the transmission sites, and operational savings because less equipment results in less power consumption, less heat dissipation, less in cooling down the sites year by year.

• Single Frequency Network System Solution
Timing is a critical requirement for SFN networks because all transmitters broadcast on the same frequency. SFNs can be deployed in digital networks like DVB-T/T2 or for analog FM or AM broadcasting, but the challenge is always the same – ensuring accurate synchronisation between the transmitters. The solution provides accuracy in synchronisation of FM cells with automatic adjustment of runtime differences caused by variable packet delays, jitter and satellite anomalies. Distribution can be by E1, IP or satellite, and any one of the feeds can be selected for backup purposes without affecting the synchronisation. Adjustment of runtime differences, jitter etc. is automatic.

• FM2TS Professional MPEG Encoding Gateway
The FM2TS is an 8-channel FM to MPEG Transport Stream IP gateway that can be used to provide FM audio to cable broadcasters, or to stream 8 FM channels to a quality assurance institution as part of an FM monitoring solution. The FM2TS can also be deployed as a solution for transmission to gap fillers or rebroadcasting. Reducing CAPEX and OPEX by concentrating 8 channels into a single device, the FM2TS also features 2wcom's new hardware platform, with support for leading-edge TS and IP functionalities such as multiple MPTS and SPTS generation, IPv6, HTTPS, and SNMPv3.
