53rd Festival De Télévision de Monte-Carlo Opens

The 53rd Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo was opened yesterday evening by Honorary President S.A.S. Prince Albert II at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
After introducing the 2013 Jury members, who will select the recipients of this year’s Golden Nymph Awards, Prince Albert II presented Donald Sutherland with the Festival’s inaugural Crystal Nymph to celebrate his Lifetime Achievement.
Sutherland stars in Crossing Lines, a brand new television drama series which was selected as the Festival’s first World Premiere Opening Screening.
Other members of the Crossing Lines cast and production team, including Gabriella Pession, Tom Wlaschiha, Marc Lavoine, Ed Bernero and Rola Bauer were in Monaco to launch the series in front of a specially invited audience from Monte-Carlo.
Crossing Lines, which also stars William Fichtner, Richard Flood and Moon Dailly, is produced by Tandem Communications and Bernero Productions in co-production with TF1 Production/TF1 Network and in association with Sony Pictures Television Networks.
Laurent Puons, CEO of the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, said: "This is an evening of firsts. We are extremely pleased to open our event with a World Premiere Screening and delighted to honor one of the most outstanding actors of his generation, Donald Sutherland, with our inaugural Crystal Nymph. The standard of entries in our competition continues to grow and is truly exceptional this year. I wish our highly experienced jury members good luck as they begin the hard task of deciding the ultimate winners which will be announced later this week."
