Welsh broadcaster S4C has secured the rights to air the 2026 Tour de France, extending its coverage of the world's biggest cycling race with a mix of live stages and highlights programming.

Welsh-language coverage of the event will run from 4–26 July across S4C and its digital platforms, allowing audiences to follow the race from its opening stage in Barcelona through to its conclusion on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

The 2026 edition of the race is scheduled to begin in Barcelona on 4 July before finishing in the French capital on 26 July. Attention is also already turning to the 2027 Tour de France, which is set to begin in Edinburgh on 2 July before ending in Paris on 25 July. The opening stages of that race are expected to travel through Scotland, England and Wales.

S4C is currently in discussions regarding coverage of the 2027 event, which would mark the first time the Tour de France passes through Wales.

This year’s presenting team includes Rhodri Gomer, Peredur ap Gwynedd, Gruff Lewis and Manon Lloyd.

Coverage of the race is sublicensed from TNT Sports and will be produced for S4C by Sunset & Vine.
