Successful TELEX Dispatch Training In Prague

Around 15 participants from EMEA took part in the latest TELEX RoIP/VoIP (Radio over IP / Voice over IP) Dispatch Academy in Prague from June 19th to 21st.
Hosted by Paul Mayer, TELEX Dispatch technical support engineer, the three-day training dealt primarily with TELEX radio dispatch systems. In addition to a number of lectures outlining the latest technological developments from a theoretical and practical perspective, the radio and VoIP experts attending the course were offered plenty of opportunity for practice-oriented, hands-on training.
The Academy’s program consisted mainly of workshops on system installation: IP networking and multicast solutions, and comprehensive instruction in the use of products such as the IP-223 and the upcoming IP-224 dual IP remote adapter, the Tetra radio system interface, the TELEX System Manager (TSM) and Network Recorder, and various VoIP desktop control consoles (C-6200, IP-1616, IP-2002, and C-2002). Additional focus was given to conceptual aspects of network engineering and radio signalling techniques, and how these are integrated into practical and cost-effective radio dispatch solutions.
To ensure participants obtained the maximum possible advantage from the course, a whole demo system with all the latest product launches was set up on site. SIP telephony, MotoTrbo, and the Network Recorder applications were key features. Additionally, FleetSync, MDC-1200, and five-tone signaling were all explored in depth. The additional installation of these features allowed everyone to experience the full function spectrum of TELEX’s RoIP dispatch systems.
“We are very pleased with the feedback and dialogue that has been generated,” explains Paul Mayer. “The presentation of new, and somewhat complex, concepts in the field was well received, and stimulated some interesting debate. The motivation, and expectations, of the participants were very high.”
Mayer’s positive evaluation is shared by Nico Lewis, TELEX Senior Sales Manager: “Academies are an essential method of making the advantages of our IP-based dispatch solutions understood in each individual country. The positive feedback of our participants underlines the importance of hosting smaller sized trainings for our growing customer base. Ideas and perspectives can be exchanged face to face, rather than simply locations to deliver information.”
