Sherlock Takes Two Baftas

The BBC re-imagining of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock has won two Bafta awards during a star studded ceremony in London last night.
The series, co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the new Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his loyal friend, Doctor John Watson.
The show won best drama series, while Martin Freeman was named best supporting actor.
Other major winners included Testing game-show The Cube, which defeated The X Factor and Have I Got News For You for best entertainment show, while Danish drama The Killing, was named best international programme.
EastEnders defeated rival Coronation Street in the best continuing drama category, while ironically, the BBC Four show detailing the early days of the Weatherfield soap won best single drama.
Surprise of the day was winner of the audience award - won by ITV2 reality show The Only Way Is Essex.
The category, which was voted for by the public, was also being contested by period drama Downton Abbey, Sherlock and Channel 4's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
James 'Arg' Argent, a character in the part staged reality show, said: "We are a little out of place because we are not proper actors but it is nice to be here. We are going to have a right Essex night out."
Other notable prizes included a fellowship award for outstanding achievement, which went to newscaster Trevor McDonald.
