Bitfocus Wins IBC2026 Best Of Show Award

Bitfocus has won a Future's Best of Show Award at IBC2026 for the latest version of its Buttons workflow design, control and monitoring platform.

Buttons version 1.8 was recognised by AV Technology for its new workflow tools, increased control panel flexibility and integration capabilities for IP networks.

The Future's Best of Show Awards are judged by a panel of engineers and industry experts, who assess new products and solutions at IBC based on factors including innovation, functionality, feature set, value and their potential to meet the changing needs of the broadcast and professional AV industries.

The latest Buttons release introduces a range of features designed to simplify the creation and operation of complex workflows.

Among the additions are smarter routing tools with automatic path-finding, allowing users to connect sources and destinations without needing to understand the underlying hardware of routers, converters and tie-lines.

For IP-based environments, Buttons 1.8 also includes an integrated NMOS registry server, supporting device discovery and interoperability across IP networks.

Other new features include multiple timers and countdown clocks for triggering timed and conditional events, as well as HTTP query and request nodes to enable automation from remote systems. The platform also adds interoperability with TSL tally management.

Security and user management have also been expanded, with support for LDAP/Active Directory and OIDC single sign-on, alongside smart role synchronisation.

Buttons is designed to control and monitor equipment from multiple vendors, with almost 900 APIs and interfaces currently available in its library. The platform allows users to build equipment into workflows and create dedicated control surfaces, including integration with devices such as the Elgato Stream Deck.

Bitfocus said the development of version 1.8 was shaped by feedback from its growing user base, with the release focused on making complex rich-media architectures and workflows faster and simpler to create and operate.

The award was presented during IBC2026 in recognition of the latest enhancements to the platform.
