PBDS and SHS ship £10.2m news system to Moscow

Professional & Broadcast Digital Systems UK (PBDS) and SHS Multimedia have shipped a £10.2 million integrated news, media asset management and automated archiving system to Moscow broadcaster TV Centre.
After satisfactory acceptance trials in the UK the system is now being installed in TV Centre's new broadcast complex and undergoing final testing prior to going on-air later in the year.
The contract includes a major newsroom system, a media asset management system to control content from ingestion through to playout and archiving, four multi-camera studios - two with a virtual reality capability, edit suites, a robotic archiving system, an Internet complex and transmission facilities.
PBDS are responsible for the broadcast infrastructure while SHS Multimedia are providing the Information Technology and software integration, including the development of the media asset management system.
