CJP Broadcast Delivers Pitch-Side Media System

News Image
CJP Broadcast has completed a new pitch-side media installation at Cinderford RFC, providing the club with a flexible production infrastructure to support match coverage, coaching analysis and a growing programme of community events.

The project follows wider improvements at the ground, including the addition of an all-weather 4G pitch that has significantly increased activity levels. Initially, Cinderford RFC approached CJP to discuss a basic camera system for recording matches, but after reviewing the club’s ambitions and the opportunities created by the new pitch, CJP proposed a more comprehensive solution designed to deliver long-term value and allow for future expansion.

The finished system comprises two pitch-side PTZ cameras, an operated match camera and an interview camera, all connected to a new dedicated media room. Structured cabling has been installed to support the addition of further cameras for tournaments and special events. In addition, the clubhouse has been upgraded with a new projector, speakers, microphones and a video matrix routing system to enable matchday presentations and community use.

The installation meets National League recording standards and lays the groundwork for live streaming, pitch-side analysis and the creation of digital content.

Rob Beavis from Cinderford RFC said: "We're already seeing the benefits of having a media setup in place. The new media room gives us the chance to review match footage straight after games, and there's a lot of potential for interviews, features and coverage that show what's happening around the club. With more activity on the pitch and more community events planned, having the right system in place is a big step forward for us."

Chris Phillips, Managing Director at CJP Broadcast, said: "We wanted to give Cinderford RFC a system that supports their immediate needs while opening the door to new opportunities. The club has a clear vision for how it wants to use video to connect with supporters and highlight everything happening across the community. Our role was to design a practical, scalable setup that helps them take that next step with confidence."

Cinderford RFC is now expanding the use of its upgraded facilities, increasing coverage of its Women’s and Girls’ rugby teams and introducing additional sports such as walking football. The club is also preparing to launch a YouTube channel to showcase first team fixtures, youth rugby and community events hosted at the ground.
