Greek studio opt for Pinnacle CineWave

Greek post-production studio Graal have installed a Pinnacle Systems CinéWave HD non-linear editing system (NLE).
This makes Graal the first HD capable post-studio in Greece, as they already boast an HD deck and HD routing. The new CinéWave HD will be used for many of Graal’s productions, the first being 'A Sea Apart', a feature film directed by Ersi Danou, and shot in Los Angeles and Greece.
According to Antonis Nikolaou, Video Effects Manager at Graal, the main reason for choosing Pinnacle’s CinéWave solution was its ability to edit anything from DVD up to HD film quality. He said: “We have high-end DVD authoring kit in the studio, so we needed DVD capability. CinéWave offers the best possible quality in terms of material origination options. It is an amazing system as it lets you do everything from creating a DV film and mastering DVDs to outputting uncompressed HD resolution. Its scalable architecture gives us the flexibility we need – all on the same base system with the same TARGA Ciné Engine.”
The system was provided by Athens-based Amy Digital Video, who also provide full back-up and support.
