Pinnacle Systems unveils Cinéwave Classic and CinéAquire

Pinnacle Systems have announced the introduction of CinéWave Classic - a low-cost uncompressed video system created for graphic artists and video editors who already own Final Cut Pro.
Pinnacle Systems also introduced CinéAcquire, a comprehensive video capture and device control solution for CinéWave that can be used as a stand-alone application and/or directly from within leading graphics applications such as Pinnacle’s Commotion Pro and Adobe After Effects.
Costing nearly 30% less than a CinéWave editing system, CinéWave Classic delivers the same uncompressed video for creating graphic intensive intros, outros, ID's and promos using popular QuickTime-native applications.
CinéWave Classic also provides Final Cut Pro owners with a cost-effective solution for stepping up to professional-caliber video editing capability formats and functionality. QuickTime video-out support for NTSC, PAL and HD is provided through the standard QuickTime Movie Player, an application's own QuickTime viewer or through RAM preview in Commotion Pro, After Effects, and combustion.
Using the included dual Digital Tethers, CinéWave Classic can simultaneously play out to tape up to four 10-bit uncompressed SD streams or two 10-bit uncompressed SD streams plus one uncompressed HD stream. CinéWave Classic includes one of several available CinéWave I/O breakout boxes, which include a 10-bit SDI Pro Digital breakout box, and the CinéAcquire application and plug-module. CinéWave Classic also includes the same TARGA Cineé Engine available with all CinéWave products.
There is no need to change the underlying system configuration.
CinéAcquire expands the video graphics design capability of any CinéWave-equipped G4 by providing direct machine control for sophisticated video capture. CinéAcquire works as both a stand-alone application and as a plug-in module for Pinnacle Systems Commotion Pro and, Adobe After Effects and Discreet combustion. CinéAcquire allows users to efficiently perform critical tasks such as frame grabs and batch captures with complete RS-422 deck and device control in NTSC/PAL and widely used HD formats.
Pinnacle Systems Senior Product Manager, Andrew Baum, said: “Motion graphics professionals continually ask for a way of easily getting the best quality video into their favorite graphics applications without having to go into a completely different and less familiar application.
"CinéAcquire satisfies this demand and enhances all CinéWave systems by delivering a full-featured video capture toolkit that works directly within your favorite graphics applications or as a stand-alone application.
"It is a perfect assistant, ready to quickly grab a frame, clips or a series of uncompressed standard definition and high definition clips with timecode right into your current graphics project,” he said.
