Pinnacle Systems CinéWave 4.5 launched

Pinnacle Systems has announced the immediate availability of CinéWave 4.5, the new version of the only standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) solution fully qualified by Apple for Final Cut Pro 4.
CinéWave 4.5 features new real-time HD capabilities, advanced 24-bit multi-track hardware enhanced audio support, desktop mirroring for multiple programs such as Apple Shake, and full support for Apple RT Extreme. Pinnacle has also unleashed the screaming fast 66 MHz bus interface on its PCI-X compatible TARGA Ciné Engine for stunning transfer speeds.
"Paired with Final Cut Pro 4, CinéWave is an amazing all-in-one editing solution that gets better with each new software release," said Bill Davis, Senior Editor at Interface Media Group. "The ability to work with a full range of resolutions from Photo-JPEG all the way up to HD is astonishing for any single product, and CinéWave handles it all with ease. Including the ability to support Apple's 10-bit uncompressed and DV sequences is a masterstroke from Pinnacle that gives the editor all the functionality of the competing 'input-output only' devices on the market, as well as the hardware accelerated features we have used extensively over the years. I can't think of a more functional or expandable capture solution for Final Cut Pro on the market. With a clear and easy path to HD, Pinnacle has built CinéWave with the future in mind."
The TARGA Ciné Engine delivers guaranteed real-time performance for SD and HD to modern Power Macs. In addition, it offers exclusive CinéWave features including mixed formats within a timeline, 16-bit video, guaranteed support for up to five uncompressed real-time streams with multiple effects, real-time native RGBA support, real-time animation codec support, real-time HD (16:9) pan and scan downconvert with keyframeable controls to uncompressed SD (4:3), simultaneous live SD and HD outputs, and more. The enhanced TARGA Ciné Engine also means users can now harness the full horsepower of their dual processing G5 with a 66 MHz bus interface.
Using CinéWave 4.5 on the latest dual processing Macintosh G5 gives editors the capacity to image correct uncompressed HD images in real-time with simultaneous SD downconvert. CinéWave's new, fully keyframeable real-time HD video controls include: phase for color adjustment, setup for adjusting black range, video levels for adjusting brightness, and chroma level for adjusting saturation.
