Stage Sound Services Invests In 16 Channels Of Trantec S6000 Wireless Systems

Stage Sound Services, a leading pro-audio supplier in Wales with headquarters based in Cardiff, is continuing to expand its activities throughout the UK.
As a result of their rapid growth in both the corporate and theatre sectors, they have now purchased a further 16 channels of Trantec's award-winning S6000 wireless systems, bringing their total to 60 channels of S6000.
This comes in addition to a recent purchase of 50 channels of Trantec S5.5 wireless mics.
Phil Hurley, Stage Sound's Managing Director, said: "Despite all the current talk of downturns in the market, we have been going from strength to strength, and to keep up with this demand we have now taken our stock levels to over 100 channels of wireless.
"I have used Trantec ever since I founded the company and some of those original systems are still in use today.
"However, technology has moved on and knowing it was time to replenish our stocks. I had a good look at the latest systems around. For both quality and value for money, it made the Trantec S6000 the easy choice."
Early applications include a season of Shakespeare at Regents Park Open Air Theatre including 'Romeo & Juliet' and 'Twelfth Night', the 'Godspell' UK tour, 'High Society' and the National Theatre of Scotland's award-winning tour of 'Black Watch'.
The S6000 is a new generation radio mic, which is designed and engineered specifically for professional users. The system is available in half and full width 1U rackmount versions, and also as a compact 8 way 2U rack.
The UHF system comprises antenna distribution, headphone monitor, and a small format PC. This internal PC, running Windows XP, gathers data from the receivers and the whole system can be monitored and controlled from a single screen, either locally or through any other PC on the network via an Ethernet interface.
This allows the user to control functions such as transmitter battery status, remote setting of names, frequencies, mute level settings and frequency scanning.
The small, compact transmitter duplicates the same frequency range as the receiver, storing up to 64 frequencies, eliminating the need for a different transmitter version for each individual channel.
Phil Hurley added: "As well as answering our needs for a flexible and user-friendly system, our goal was to provide a clear and natural enhancement of the artists' performance. The S6000 fulfilled the brief superbly and we will no doubt see our new systems in use for many years to come."
