Information TV Chooses Geevs For Their Playout Solution

A Geevs SDE1 Broadcast Video Server with Auto-Run Client software from Gee Broadcast Systems has just been installed at Information TV in the heart of London's Soho.
The Geevs, with its Auto-Run playout software is saving Information TV thousands of pounds a year in third party playout costs. The system provides for ingest or material, compilation of playlists, automated playout with channel bug insertion and external router control.
The current installation has over 80 hours of storage and can easily be expanded to add additional channels and additional storage as Information TV's operation continues to grow.
Fred Perkins, CEO of Information TV, said: "The flexibility and future expandability of the Geevs system together with Gee Broadcast's long experience and local presence was key in our choice of system."
Information TV launched on January 19 2004 on Sky Digital and is licensed by Ofcom. It is a 24-hour, free-to-air channel, committed to broadcasting high-quality programming, to espousing authority, integrity and independence, and to providing must-see, relevant programming.
Gee Broadcast, celebrating their 21st year this year, have been manufacturing Geevs servers for over ten years from their headquarters in Basingstoke UK.
Thousands of Geevs server channels have now been supplied to over 50 countries worldwide and can be found fulfilling essential tasks in many of the world's leading broadcasters.
