Somethin' Else Completes Vision For New Studios

Somethin' Else, a cross-platform production company, has announced that it is further expanding the role of its highly specialised studio and edit facilities by offering them for hire.
This move sees the completion of Somethin' Else's vision to create a fully integrated cross-platform studio complex that combines facility hire with content production.
The facilities at Somethin' Else include 5 studios and 4 edit booths which vary in size from Studio 1, a 4 x 8 metre space, which is designed for filming or band sessions and can be used for live web-streaming, to the smaller self-operated Studio 4, which is used for live or 'as live' radio production. A green room is also available for use.
The studios will be available for voice-over recording, round table discussions, full band recordings, ISDN sessions, media training and Avid/Final Cut bookings. Bespoke services such as voice casting, scriptwriting and sound FX will also be available on offer alongside custom packages to suit budget and individual projects.
The team of engineers at Somethin' Else will complement the hardware and facilities available, using their experience in providing support for the company's cross-platform production, which includes podcasting, high-quality performance video for broadband and production for radio.
Somethin' Else's facilities are managed by Gregor Reid, Head of Facilities, who joined Somethin' Else at the end of 2007.
Reid said: "Creating an environment in which cross-media production sits beside facilities-for-hire has always been our vision. To realise that vision, along with the wealth of experience offered by our expert staff, truly places Somethin' Else at the forefront of the cross-platform landscape."
Somethin' Else moved into the new premises near Old Street in Summer 2007 in order to provide greater studio support for the expansion of the company, which has now grown to around 100 staff.
