Nordisk Gets Live Commission From TV2

News Image
Nordisk Film TV, a leading Nordic developer, producer and distributor of creative content within movies, feature animations, TV, music and games, has been commissioned by Danish commercial broadcaster TV2 to produce three hours of live television per day for a number of years, starting in January 2009.
'Go Morgen' and 'Go Aften' are popular morning and evening talks shows that have a large following throughout Denmark. Nordisk Film has produced 'Go Aften' for six years, with another company producing 'Go Morgen'.
Over a year ago, TV2 decided to offer the production of both series to one producer with the aim of updating the show and to benefit from the synergies of having two series produced by one company. There had been a slight slip in younger viewers and the challenge therefore was to come up with a renewed, fresher and younger version of both programmes.
More than eight production companies within Denmark were involved in the bidding process, all with the aim of securing the very lucrative and high profile commission.
Kjeld Reinicke, Head of Programming at TV2 Denmark commented: "This is the biggest deal ever put out by TV2 and the whole of Denmark has been eagerly awaiting this announcement. We have selected Nordisk for a number of reasons: their new concept was certainly the most innovative and creative idea that we saw. In addition, their extensive experience and journalistic competencies have reassured us that our three hours of live television will be in the best possible hands every day."
Jacob Houlind, President and CEO at Nordisk Film TV commented: "We are delighted to be the winners in this very hard fought contest. We are ready and set with the clear ambition to produce Denmark's best-loved and most-talked about current affairs show. With three hours live broadcast over the course of a day - every day - on Denmark's biggest network we will truly become a significant editorial force in the Danish media landscape."
Houlind added: "Fighting for this tender has been a real group effort where all competences across Nordisk Film TV have been tapped. A huge commission like this, not only helps us with a sound revenue platform in the coming years, but also enables us as a company to focus even more on programme development and creative growth, giving us the opportunity to further our ambition of becoming the centre of creative excellence in the North."
