Nordisk Targets DISCOP Expo With Programmes

News Image
A Scandinavian distributor - which is active in developing, producing and distributing 'moving images' throughout the Nordic region, Nordisk Film TV World has announced that it will attend the forthcoming DISCOP market in Budapest (18-20 June).
The company, whose activities include movies, feature animations, music, commercials, music videos, videos, DVDs, TV and electronic games, said that it will showcase a number of new television formats available for the CES region.
Nordisk Film already holds the Nordic distribution rights to Sony PlayStation and owns movie theatres in Denmark and Norway and also owns post-production companies, film laboratories and broadcasting facilities.
The company's Melody Challenge is said to allow an entire nation to search of the very best song.
With an average 75% share Melody Challenge is claimed to be the single most popular talent quest format anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, Doobidoo is the only format to consistently post higher shares than Idol in a head-to-head competition and is said to be the ultimate celebrity sing-a-long quiz show.
After 10 seasons, 71 Degrees North also remains one of the most spectacular reality formats around - according to the company.
A group of 12 contestants travels from the south of Norway all the way north to Nordcap (71 degrees north), an extreme journey across the incredible Norwegian landscape.
The format has been optioned in the US and the recent celebrity version produced for Benelux airing on 2BE in Belgium and RTL in Holland, consistently achieved a 5 - 10% higher share than both Peking Express and Survivor.
FC Nerds is another reality series that tries to make 16 self-confessed 'nerds' win over the national football-team.
Viewers watch how these 'nerds' are transformed from mice to men and from losers to winners and how this has changed their lives.
FC Nerds is licensed in 14 territories. FC Nerds just performed an average 35% increase rating in the programming slot on VT4 in Belgium.
In a challenge format, Bias, contestants fight the audience and their own prejudice in five high spirited rounds to win $100,000.
