Geevs servers chosen by Swedish broadcaster

Basingstoke-based solution provider, Gee Broadcast Systems, have been chosen by Swedish broadcaster TV4 to provide 10 Geevs servers to pay out their local news programmes.
Following intensive testing and integration by Gyro Media into their Bossanova-based DV-system, TV4 chose Geevs servers to playout the DV material from their regional operations.
The material recorded in DV can be edited in native DV by FAST Purple Editors, managed and stored by the Gyro Media DV-System and then played out on the servers. Geevs are controlled via Louth VDCP protocol for playout under control by the Gyro Media Bossanova software.
This new approach is intended to maintain high picture quality by avoiding any re-encoding of material throughout the production process. Playout from Geevs is in SDI format to ensure the picture integrity. Using high-speed networking and fast-data transfers ensures rapid response times and efficient workflows.
Gyro Media have been in the Audio Visual/Broadcast market since 1992 as a system house in digital Audio Visual Media. The company offers complete integrated technical solutions and has developed products such as Cavatina, Bossanova and Upstage.
Gyro Media chose Geevs as it met the demands of versatility, ease of integration, reliability and price-performance ratio.
Gee Broadcast Systems Ltd, the manufacturer of Geevs, have been supplying the broadcast video market for over 15 years with both products and integrated solutions. In-house engineering teams can also provide support, commissioning and training services.
