Belfast Based Indie To Be Honoured At Channel 4's Creative Cities Awards

Leading documentary film-makers Dermot Lavery and Michael Hewitt from Belfast-based DoubleBand Films are set to add to their growing list of accolades.
Already recipients of a prestigious RTS (Royal Television Society) Award and nominated at the Griersons, the indie will be honoured at Channel 4's Creative Cities Awards for their documentary 'Who Killed Brian Jones', about the the suspicious death of the ex-Rolling Stone who, aged 27 was found face down, at the bottom his swimming pool.
Double band will also be recognised for a second documentary, 'Monkey Love', about Harry Harlow, the American research psychologist who was responsible for some of the most controversial experiments to have been performed in animal laboratories.
The awards will be presented in London on 12 February by Philip Graf, Ofcom Deputy Chairman .
The Awards judging panel was made up of senior members from Channel 4 who selected the indies they considered to have made an outstanding contribution in the area of factual programming.
The Creative Cities Awards were launched three years ago and form part of the channel's regional Creative Cities initiative which covers film and television production, off-screen innovations and partnerships.
