Panasonic announces partnership with Fujinon

Panasonic has announced a partnership with Fujinon and an offer of an AJ-HDX900 DVCPRO HD Camcorder and a specially manufactured HD lens, available only as part of this package.
The lens has all the functions of all Fujinon’s other HD lenses and maintains the high quality of all Fujinon lenses but has been specially manufactured to give Production Companies and Users an easier entry into HD Production.
Compact, versatile and utilising all of Fujinons current lens technology, this unit lives up to all the high standards necessary for HD production. This special 17 x lens made for Panasonic has the longest focal length, 130 mm (260 mm with 2X Extender), and the widest angle of view (64 degrees 30’) at 7.6 mm, and is a new HD standard lens for all high-definition broadcast field production applications in 16:9 image format.
The Camcorder in the offer is the AJ-HDX900, the revolutionary new global format camcorder that is set to offer the production world a new approach to camera purchase or hire for video production. The ability to shoot anywhere and produce content for any territory, worldwide. With the inclusion of a high quality lens in a package, this opens the door of professional HD production to a much wider area.
The package price will give users an outstanding saving compared to the two items being sold separately. This is achievable as both Panasonic and Fujinon are keen to promote HD as a cost effective alternative to SD production workflows. As new lenses are always seen as an expensive addition to a crew’s kit, both manufactures wanted to offer a package that would start the change over process to HD as cost effectively as possible.
Aimed at Owner Operators, Hire Companies and both Television and Corporate Production Companies as well as Broadcasters, this package is an ideal opportunity for the whole industry who have not yet ventured into HD production to invest in future proofing their production with an incredibly versatile package.
The entire set will consist of a HDX900, HD viewfinder, Microphone, Tripod adaptor plate and a Fujinon 17x HD lens and retail for an RRP of €43,990 and is available now.
