DTL Broadcast MiniBlox In The Television News
DTL Broadcast, a long established manufacturer of interface products for the international broadcast market, reports rapid growth in sales of its MiniBlox range.
They are proving particularly popular with TV news organisations such as APTN, BSkyB, CNN and Reuters.
The MiniBlox range comprises video and audio interface solutions of the highest quality housed in extremely rugged and compact aluminium cases. This makes them ideally suited to news gathering applications.
Embedded audio MiniBlox are proving very popular. Success of these in part results from the comprehensive range now available. Units are available to embed or extract analogue audio (two balanced stereo pairs) and AES-EBU digital audio (two streams). Balanced and unbalanced AES-EBU audio are catered for. Recently launched embedders incorporate sample rate converters that accept synchronous or asynchronous audio rates from 32 to 96kHz.
Possibly the most successful MiniBlox is the unique 4463A composite video and analogue audio to SDI ADC. This converts analogue composite video to SDI then inserts two balanced analogue audio pairs into the SDI, all in one miniature unit. It employs extremely high quality conversion for both video & audio.
The recently launched 4464A DAC performs the reverse and converts SDI to analogue composite video and extracts two balanced analogue audio pairs from the SDI.
