Prism Sound Launches A New Lower-Cost Analogue Version Of Its DScope Series III Audio Analyzer

As part of its ongoing commitment to offering customers the best possible value, Prism Sound is launching a new lower-cost version of its ground-breaking dScope Series III audio analyzer so that research and development engineers and production line managers can order a unit that precisely matches their analysis requirements.
From January 1, 2009, dScope Series III and will be available to order as an analogue-only variant, making it ideally suited to those engineers who are currently only concerned with audio analysis in the analogue domain.
This development means that customers who want to access the power and flexibility of the dScope Series III audio analyzer platform can do so at a lower cost of entry, safe in the knowledge that should they want to upgrade to add digital functionality in the future they will be able to do so.
Graham Boswell, Sales and Marketing Director of Prism Sound, said: "The dScope Series III analyzer platform is probably the most flexible and powerful audio test solution for analogue and digital audio generation and analysis. However, we are aware that some of our customers don't need its entire feature set in order to conduct analysis in the analogue domain only. We are aiming to provide these customers with a cost effective solution that gives them the tools they need right now, but without limiting their future options. Software upgrades are simple to implement and can be carried out at any point in the future to improve functionality without the customer needing to buy new hardware, learn new operating systems, or return the unit for an upgrade."
The new analogue-only units will begin shipping in March 2009. In addition to this lower entry cost option, customers in the US will also benefit from the new pricing structure for dScope Series III, which was announced last week to counter recent fluctuations in the Sterling/US Dollar rate exchange. For detailed pricing information, customers can contact their local Prism Sound representative.
The dScope Series III family offers comprehensive analogue and digital audio signal generation and analysis, plus support for digital audio carrier testing, quasi-anechoic microphone/loudspeaker analysis and testing of Windows sound devices.
dScope Series III users can also define their own analysis filters or measurement algorithms, enabling dScope Series III to go far beyond the hugely flexible tool that is already provided as standard. dScope Series III can be easily automated using its built-in VBScript interpreter, enabling the creation of custom test routines and pass/fail limit checking.
Furthermore, test automation can also be accomplised with dScope's "COM" interface, when using external automation software. This makes dScope Series III ideally suited to production line testing applications, where testing of many different types of functionality in different domains (analogue, digital, electronic, acoustic) can all be accomplished using this single unit.
The dScope Series III audio test and measurement system comprises a Windows PC (XP and Vista compatible) software application coupled with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connection.
