SSL to install SuperAnalogue console in leading French studio

Solid State Logic are to supply an 80-channel XL SuperAnalogue console in the Paris facility of independent studio Davout.
The XL becomes the sixth console to have been ordered by the internationally-renowned facility over a thirty year period, and will soon take its place in the control room of Studio A, which features a spacious live area with four isolation booths.
Davout have all three of their studios equipped with SSL consoles, with Studio B containing an SL 4056 G while an SL 4048 E resides in the control room of Studio M.
Commenting on the decision to purchase an XL, Davout studio manager Oliver Kowalski, said: "We always strive to balance our creative environment with appropriate advances in technology. With the addition of our new console - eight channels larger than its predecessor - we have a wide range of desks, each with a strong freelance following. The new XL provides even greater sonic integrity than the SL 9000 J Series; it's an incredibly powerful tool to create new sounds and its new developments in 5.1 mixing are really impressive. SSL have harnessed all the successful elements from the J Series and moved forward to address all our anticipated recording and mixing requirements."
