HHB SUPPLY NEW DOLBY SYSTEMS TO BFV
LONDON company HHB Communications have supplied a quantity of Dolby DP562, 569, 571 and 572 codecs to Broadcast Film & Video (BFV).
The order is part of a major capital investment at the Bristol-based post-production facility. Specialising in natural history, animation and long form features, BFV now produce a significant percentage of their work with Dolby encoded audio and are the first post-production facility in the UK to equip for HDTV.
BFV Chief Executive Dave Blackham said: “BFV is well known for pioneering new formats so it’s essential that our suppliers are responsive to our needs and knowledgeable about the technologies involved. We have dealt with HHB for many years and their service and support have always been first class.”
The new high-definition edit suite at BFV is designed to give a large roster of international broadcast clients a cinematic experience with both Dolby 5.1 and Dolby Surround monitoring installed.
HHB Sales Director Steve Angel said: “The growing demand from international broadcasters for multi-channel audio has seen a significant increase in the demand for Dolby technology from UK post-production studios. British productions have always been popular around the world and initially the US market has driven the demand for stereo and multi-channel audio. Now, with our own UK digital broadcasting taking off, post production facilities are equipping for the inevitable increase in demand for Dolby encoded programme material.”
HHB are the exclusive UK distributor of Dolby pro audio products.
