               CAMERON COMMUNICATIONS LAUNCH FREEWAY
CAMERON Communications have launched a new range of products for Web TV applications.
‘Freeway’ is the new range of products that allow real time encoding to Real Networks and Microsoft’s soon to be released MP4 streaming format. The ‘Freeway’ encoder combines encoding with a full database library that will store the clips to allow direct FTP connection to the server.
Complementing the ‘Freeway’ encoder is ‘Freeway’ TX, a system solution that allows the storage and scheduled playback of high quality video/audio live streaming to the server. Now TV channels can be run directly from the server via the ‘Freeway’ scheduling software.
Scottish Media Group (SMG) have purchased a ‘Freeway’ encoder system for their new S1 web channel. This compliments the ‘Pinnacle’ REELTIME system that they purchased last year from Cameron.
The ‘Freeway’ products are a new range of Web/TV products now being developed by Cameron for this new expanding market.
Greig Scott, MD of Cameron, said: “In the next two years we are going to see an explosion of domestic users with faster connections to the Web. This will open up new markets for local and national television channels to show quality motion video.” (GB)
