Hornets Tech Unveils New Encoder, Decoder And IPTV Range

News Image
Hornets Tech will introduce a new range of encoders, decoders and an IPTV platform at IBC 2026, expanding its portfolio of broadcast connectivity and IP video solutions for hybrid production environments.

The new products are designed to address the growing need for broadcasters and media organisations to move signals seamlessly between SDI, IP and ST 2110 infrastructures without replacing existing equipment.

The SDI encoder supports up to 16 SDI inputs in a 1RU chassis, converting them to MPEG-TS for IP distribution, while a matching decoder converts the signals back to SDI. A separate ST 2110 encoder and decoder provide the same functionality for uncompressed ST 2110 video and audio, enabling facilities to transport feeds beyond the production network without carrying uncompressed signals throughout the wider infrastructure.

Hornets Tech is also launching an HDMI encoder capable of accepting up to eight inputs, including 4K60 sources from laptops, media players and other AV devices. Completing the range is an IPTV platform that manages channel line-ups and feeds a set-top box capable of displaying up to eight streams across two screens.

"We have built one platform, but that does not mean everyone has to use it the same way," said Alistair Horne, director at Hornets Tech. "Turnkey hardware, software on your own servers, or white-labelled under your own brand, depending on the operation. Support comes from the engineers who built it, not a call centre."

Alongside its new IP products, Hornets Tech will continue to showcase its wireless RF video capabilities at the exhibition. The company has supplied RF systems since 2006 and is an authorised reseller for Domo Broadcast Systems, formerly Cobham RF.

Its RF portfolio includes onboard camera transmission systems for motorsport, sailing and air racing, ENG and live sports links, and film assist applications. The range also includes COFDM receivers offering up to 16-way diversity and sub-40 ms latency, together with complementary antennas, downconverters and filters.

Horne will also be available on the Domo Broadcast Systems stand (10.D32), where visitors can arrange to discuss the new products.

Hornets Tech will exhibit at IBC 2026 at Amsterdam RAI from 11–14 September.
