Atlona Launches Omega 2 AV-Over-IP Range

News Image
Atlona has expanded its Omega Series of presentation and collaboration products with Omega 2, a new range designed to simplify connectivity for presenters and reduce the number of devices required behind displays.

The new lineup, developed by Hall Research’s Atlona brand, is built on HDBaseT 3.0 technology and includes extenders, a wall plate transmitter and a 4x2 presentation switcher with Dante audio.

Omega 2 supports uncompressed 4K/60 4:4:4 video transmission over distances of up to 100 metres using a single Cat 6A cable, alongside USB 2.0 data and Gigabit Ethernet. HDMI and USB-C connectivity across the range is intended to give integrators greater flexibility when designing meeting rooms, classrooms and other presentation spaces.

Extenders combine video, USB and Ethernet
The AT-OME2-E2311 transmitter and AT-OME2-D2311 receiver transmit HDMI, USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet over a single HDBaseT 3.0 connection. The devices also support HDR formats including Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Bi-directional Power over HDBaseT allows either device to power the other, reducing the system’s power supply requirements. At the display end, the receiver provides four USB ports for peripherals such as cameras, keyboards and mice, alongside Ethernet pass-through, analogue audio de-embedding and bi-directional RS-232 for display control.

Wall plate adds USB-C with up to 60W charging
The AT-OME2-E2321-WP wall plate transmitter combines HDMI and USB-C inputs in a standard two-gang format.

Its USB-C connection carries video and USB data while delivering up to 60W of charging power, allowing presenters to connect and power a laptop through a single cable. Front-panel buttons provide input selection and display power control, while RS-232 supports local control.

The unit is designed for applications including classrooms and lecture halls, where it can transmit signals from a lectern PC to a projector or flat-panel display up to 100 metres away. USB connectivity also supports peripherals such as document cameras and touch displays.

Switcher integrates Dante audio and room control
The AT-OME2-R2742 4x2 presentation switcher features two HDMI and two USB-C inputs, two HDMI outputs and an HDBaseT 3.0 output that mirrors the second display for remote transmission over distances of up to 100 metres.

Its USB-C ports deliver up to 145W of power, configurable as 100W plus 45W or 60W plus 60W. A 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 backplane connects conferencing cameras, speakerphones and other peripherals through four USB 3.2 ports.

The switcher also incorporates Dante audio input and output, scaling, EDID management, Multi-Stream Transport (MST) and automatic input switching.

For IT management, the unit includes three Ethernet ports with VLAN support and IEEE 802.1X authentication. Display and room control options include CEC, IP, RS-232, relays and an occupancy sensor input.

In dual-display meeting rooms, MST allows a single USB-C laptop to drive two independent screens. In bring-your-own-device (BYOD) classrooms, the switcher can feed a local display and a second screen elsewhere in the room while allowing presenters to use shared peripherals.
