Ateme Taps Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise
Ateme has integrated its sports media platform with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise, aiming to enable broadcasters, sports organisations, rights holders and streaming services to deliver highly personalised fan experiences, the company said.
The collaboration combines Gemini Enterprise’s multimodal AI with Ateme’s proprietary video AI, workflow intelligence and more than 30 years of experience in processing and delivering premium video.
According to Ateme, the integrated platform can automatically create dynamic highlights and personalised recaps customised by team, player or storyline and by the time a viewer has available; generate AI-driven multilingual commentary; and produce context-aware storytelling that merges video with sports data. It can also output social-media-ready vertical edits and audience-specific variants optimised for OTT, FAST and direct-to-consumer platforms.
With audiences increasingly expecting content tailored to favourite teams, players, languages, devices and viewing habits, Ateme says a single live event can be turned into millions of individualised stories.
The company argues the next phase of sports media will be driven by AI purpose-built for video. By pairing Gemini’s understanding of video, audio, language and context with its own video-centric models, Ateme says the system goes beyond simple clipping to determine how each moment should be transformed, packaged, delivered and monetised for every audience.
Once a key moment is identified, Ateme says its AI-powered platform can orchestrate the entire workflow: understand the moment, assess audience relevance, generate personalised variants, optimise visual quality, adapt delivery formats and distribute efficiently across multiple destinations.
Ateme claims the approach can increase engagement, speed up creation and publishing, enable large-scale localisation, improve subscriber retention, unlock new sponsorship and advertising inventory, and support premium experiences around teams, players and fan communities.
