Pliant Highlights Frameless CrewCom Flex Intercom
Pliant Technologies is showcasing its new CrewCom Flex at NAB Show New York 2026 (Stand 645), a frameless matrix IP intercom platform that brings together wired, wireless and virtual voice communications over a standards-based AES67/SMPTE ST 2110 backbone. The company is also exhibiting products from its CrewCom and MicroCom ranges. Pliant bills CrewCom Flex as the first frameless matrix intercom and a complete matrix IP-based solution that operates without traditional hardware frames.
CrewCom Flex represents a significant step forward in professional intercoms, combining Pliant’s established CrewCom wireless system with new wired main and desktop panels, wired beltpacks, and browser- or app-based virtual intercom panels that can be deployed in cloud-native or local environments.
Engineered for demanding broadcast productions and other critical communications, the platform supports hybrid, remote and distributed workflows at scale. At its core are the CrewCom Flex Main Panel (CKP-16) and Desktop Panel (CDP-16), which pair familiar tactile control with the flexibility of distributed IP communications.
Expansion panels can be added to create highly configurable user stations, and each main or desktop panel functions as an intelligent distributed matrix. By avoiding a centralised hardware frame, the system removes single points of failure and enables near-limitless scalability. Standards support for AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 allows seamless AoIP and VoIP integration, while ST 2022-7 compliance enhances reliability for mission-critical use.
Also featured is the four-channel CrewCom Flex BeltPack (CBP-24), which includes an integrated microphone and speaker so users can communicate without a headset when required.
The line-up extends to the CrewCom Flex Virtual Intercom, a browser-based VoIP system offered in 4-, 8-, 16- and 36-key configurations. It can operate as a standalone solution or integrate into larger CrewCom Flex deployments, and is accessible from PCs, Macs, tablets and mobile devices for remote and distributed teams.
CrewCom Flex integrates directly with existing CrewCom wireless systems via CrewCom’s 32×32 Dante/AES67 Digital Audio Network Interface (CXD-32CF), providing routing and expansion to and from a CrewNet infrastructure using EtherCon copper and dual LC fibre connectivity.
