Mitsui Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga Receives Brazil's Order Of Rio Branco

Tatsuo Yasunaga, Representative Director and Chairman of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui"), has been decorated with Brazil's Order of Rio Branco at the rank of Commander. The insignia was presented on 14 August at the official residence of the Ambassador of Brazil in Tokyo.

Established in 1963 to honour the Baron of Rio Branco, widely regarded as the father of Brazilian diplomacy, the Order recognises Brazilian and foreign nationals who have made distinguished contributions to Brazil's international relations. Chairman Yasunaga was honoured for his long-standing efforts to promote economic and industrial exchange with Brazil and to strengthen ties between Japan and Brazil. Since 2021, he has chaired Keidanren’s Japan–Brazil Economic Committee and advanced bilateral collaboration through the Japan–Brazil Joint Economic Committee.

Mitsui has developed a broad portfolio of businesses in Brazil over many years, contributing to the economic development of both countries. Brazil remains a key partner for Mitsui, and the company said it will continue to support the country's sustainable growth and further deepen Japan–Brazil economic relations through its business activities.
