Matthews Launches T-Go Mounts

News Image
Matthews Studio Equipment has unveiled T-Go Mounting Solutions, a pair of extreme-duty camera rigging systems designed for the harshest conditions in film and television production.

The line consists of the T-Go Ball Head Kit and the T-Go 5/8" Kit, both intended to hold camera gear firmly through maximum speeds, abrupt manoeuvres, vibration and heavy impact—situations that can defeat conventional grip gear.

Whether mounted on the bonnet of a stunt car, inside the cab of a crashing vehicle, on a rollercoaster seat or at an aircraft attachment point, camera rigs must perform flawlessly to avoid lost footage or safety incidents. Developed over decades of hands-on work by veteran key grip TJ Beatty to address extreme-load scenarios that lacked a reliable solution, the system reflects lessons learned on set. "When you're rigging on a process trailer at speed or mounting to an aircraft, you must know the camera isn't going anywhere," said Beatty. "I built T-Go because I needed it, and it didn't exist."

The T-Go Ball Head Kit is an exceptionally strong, elegantly engineered 3-in-1 mounting solution built to manage serious loads with precise control. The modular package includes a Ball Head Assembly, Jr Pin Bracket and Grid Clamp, enabling rapid, robust configurations on a Combo Stand, 5/8" rail and other common grip equipment—eliminating makeshift workarounds.

Centred on the industry-standard 5/8" pin, the T-Go 5/8" Kit supplies crosses, swivel tees, corners, double barrels and rods in six lengths, supporting quick, dependable builds on speed rail and across a wide range of production setups. Four low-profile T-Go Corners each provide three pass-throughs to accept any length of 5/8” rod; the Double Barrel offers two parallel pass-throughs for clean in-line assemblies; and the T-Go Cross features orthogonally oriented pass-throughs for expanding in multiple directions simultaneously.

All components in the T-Go Ball Head and 5/8” Kits are CNC-machined to tight tolerances and finished with a hard grey anodised coating for superior wear and corrosion resistance, integrating seamlessly with grip gear found on most trucks. T-Go is manufactured exclusively by Matthews Studio Equipment at its Burbank, California facility.
