Unified Streaming Launches Trusted Media Solution

News Image
Unified Streaming has announced Trusted Media, a new solution designed to enable broadcasters, streaming platforms and premium content owners to attach verifiable authenticity information to live, on-demand and virtual channel streams as they are prepared for distribution.

The company will demonstrate Trusted Media at IBC 2026, taking place from September 11–14 at booth 5.C68.

The launch comes as European media organisations prepare for the transparency requirements of the EU AI Act, including obligations relating to the marking, detection and labelling of AI-generated and manipulated content.

Trusted Media is designed to introduce verifiable provenance into existing streaming workflows, allowing organisations to provide information about the origin and handling of video without rebuilding their distribution infrastructure.

As video content is increasingly edited, clipped, repackaged and distributed across multiple platforms, while also being exposed to deepfakes and AI generation, establishing its origin and history is becoming more challenging. The issue is particularly relevant to live, on-demand and virtual channel workflows, where content can change continuously.

Unified Streaming says traditional metadata systems, editorial records and platform-specific verification tools do not always remain attached to video once it moves beyond the original publisher’s environment. This can make it difficult to maintain authenticity information throughout the distribution process.

Trusted Media addresses this by adding a verifiable provenance layer to just-in-time streaming workflows. The technology enables organisations to embed C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) information, including publisher identity, source attribution, editorial context and responsible AI disclosures, during content preparation.

The solution is built into Unified Streaming’s Origin and Packager technology and is designed to integrate with existing workflows across live, on-demand and virtual channel environments.

The company says the capability is particularly relevant to modern linear streams, which can combine live feeds, pre-encoded VOD content, scheduled programming, regional variants, advertising, graphics and platform-specific packaging.

Unlike some early C2PA implementations focused primarily on individual static images, Trusted Media is designed to add authenticity information dynamically to video during the final stage of content preparation, before it is delivered to a CDN. The player can then validate the information in real time.

This approach is intended to support rapidly changing workflows such as live channels, virtual channels and breaking news, where content can be updated continuously and provenance needs to remain intact.

Unified Streaming said the solution also allows broadcasters, studios and content distributors to begin signing content for authenticity without the operational delays and costs associated with reprocessing entire content libraries.
