LGCY Series Debuts On ASB GlassFloor In Berlin
THE LGCY SERIES opened on 26 July in Berlin, bringing together basketball, music, creators and fans for a fresh live showcase.
Fronted by League Presidents Dennis Schröder and Franz Wagner, the new competition aims to reshape how basketball is played, experienced and consumed. With a sell-out crowd of around 2,500 at the Uber Eats Music Hall, eight teams faced off in a rapid tournament, offering an exciting glimpse of the sport’s future.
At the centre of the event was the ASB GlassFloor, which transformed the court into an interactive stage blending sport and entertainment. Dynamic LED graphics, visual effects and digitally integrated game elements made every matchup an immersive experience for spectators in the arena and viewers worldwide.
THE LGCY SERIES combines innovative rules with an entertainment-led production. Features such as the 4-Point Zone, the Coaching Challenge and the fast-paced tournament format deliver a high-energy spectacle that reimagines basketball as a live event and creates new avenues for fan engagement.
The ASB GlassFloor was pivotal in realising this concept. As a fully digital playing surface, it displayed animations, branding and game information in real time and adapted seamlessly throughout the event. The 4-Point Zone and Coaching Challenge were visualised directly on the court, while evolving floor designs and dynamic graphics supported each game. This turned the surface into an active element of the show and unlocked new opportunities for organisers through innovative game concepts, sponsor integration and multifunctional arena experiences.
Dennis Schröder, League President of THE LGCY SERIES, said: "All the details that can be integrated were already very impressive. I am very positively surprised and, of course, I am happy that we are able to cooperate with you. […] I believe it has a lot of potential, especially when it comes to events. From a commercial perspective, [the ASB GlassFloor] is definitely right at the very top."
After its successful debut in Berlin, THE LGCY SERIES heads to Munich on 9 August. The event will be staged at BMW Park, which features a permanently installed ASB GlassFloor, highlighting how modern arenas can deploy digital sports flooring not only for elite competition but also for innovative entertainment formats.
