AV Stumpfl Launches Projection Screen Configurator

AV Stumpfl has introduced a new online screen configurator designed to simplify the specification of projection screens for systems integrators, consultants and designers.

Available in both metric and imperial versions, the web-based tool supports six of the company's projection screen families — MONOBLOX, MONOCLIP, MONOLYTE, VARIO, VARIOCLIP and FULLWHITE — allowing users to configure products through a guided workflow while visualising changes in real time.

The configurator has been developed to simplify what can often be a complex specification process, guiding users through screen selection, dimensions, transport options and accessories before generating a complete parts list that can be submitted as a quotation request.

As users progress through the configuration process, the selected specification is displayed as an interactive 3D model that can be viewed from multiple angles. The interface includes scale reference figures, optional dimension labels and adjustable screen positioning, while also allowing users to download 3D models and screenshots directly from the platform.

One of the tool's headline features is an integrated augmented reality (AR) preview. Users working on a desktop can generate a QR code that transfers the configured screen to a smartphone, enabling it to be placed within a real-world environment using the device's camera. The feature allows designers and end users to assess the size and placement of a projection screen before purchase, reducing the need for physical mock-ups or separate visualisation software.

"Specifying projection screens involves more moving parts than you might think," says Rainer Brandstätter, head of marketing, AV Stumpfl. "The configurator gives integrators and designers the confidence to work through those decisions independently, with the right information at each step and a complete, accurate specification at the end of it. The AR feature is particularly significant. This lets you put the product into the room before you buy it. That can change the conversation with the end client entirely."

The platform also supports collaborative workflows by allowing configurations to be saved and shared with colleagues, clients and project partners throughout the design process. Combined with downloadable 3D assets, screenshot exports and the AR visualisation capability, the configurator is intended to help shorten the journey from initial project concept to confirmed order.
