Arkona To Debut BLADE//Planner At IBC 2026

Arkona technologies GmbH will showcase its BLADE//planner software at IBC 2026 (Stand 8.A69), marking the platform's European exhibition debut following its introduction at NAB earlier this year.

Designed to simplify the deployment of software-defined broadcast infrastructures, BLADE//planner provides a graphical configuration environment that enables engineers to design, configure and deploy IP-based processing workflows through a visual interface.

As broadcasters continue to adopt increasingly complex IP infrastructures, the software aims to streamline system configuration by allowing users to build complete architectures offline with a clear overview of processing flows and resource allocation. Rather than navigating extensive parameter lists, engineers can select processing functions – including routing, colour correction, audio processing and frame synchronisation – and position them within the workflow using a drag-and-drop approach.

While the platform introduces a simplified graphical workflow, it retains full access to the underlying capabilities of arkona's BLADE//runner platform. Advanced users can still control more than one million configurable parameters, supporting both large-scale automation and detailed resource-level configuration where required.

Built on an open API, BLADE//planner is designed to integrate with third-party control systems while also supporting custom application development and arkona's native graphical environment. The software reflects the company's approach of offering multiple methods for configuring software-defined infrastructure, whether through visual planning, custom orchestration or direct parameter control.

At IBC 2026, visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of BLADE//planner alongside the latest capabilities of the BLADE//runner platform. The demonstrations will highlight how visual configuration can accelerate system deployment, simplify workflow design and improve the management of complex broadcast infrastructures.
