Sonuscore Launches Free ELYSION ELEMENTS Hybrid Scoring Instrument

News Image
German virtual instrument developer Sonuscore has released ELYSION ELEMENTS, a free hybrid scoring instrument designed for composers working across film, television, games and production music.

The new instrument brings the full ELYSION engine and a selection of 30 hand-picked Themes to the free Kontakt Player, allowing users to access the technology without purchasing additional software. To mark the launch, Sonuscore is also offering discounts across the wider ELYSION series until 21 July 2026.

ELYSION ELEMENTS includes Themes from four categories: Animated, Pads, Hits and Pulses. The instrument features velocity-layered sampling, with synthetic sources recorded across multiple velocity levels to allow the character of the sound to change depending on how the instrument is played.

Sonuscore said the approach is designed to replicate the behaviour of orchestral instruments, where changes in playing intensity affect tone and expression rather than simply increasing volume. Each synthetic and electronic source has been recorded across multiple velocity layers, allowing softer performances to produce smoother tones while harder playing introduces additional overtones, grit and intensity.

Unlike a limited preview or preset-only instrument, ELYSION ELEMENTS provides access to the full engine, including editable effects with morphable FX parameters, arpeggiators, envelopes, pan controls and mixer functions.

The company said the only restriction compared with the full ELYSION library is the instrument browser, while the included Themes offer the same sound-shaping and performance capabilities available to users of ELYSION 2.

The 30 included Themes were selected by Tilman Sillescu, co-founder of Sonuscore and lead composer at Dynamedion, to demonstrate the range of the system, from subtle and atmospheric sounds to more powerful and aggressive textures.

The Themes use a character-based naming system inspired loosely by Holst's The Planets, giving composers an emotional reference point when selecting sounds and helping them navigate the instrument's sonic range.
