AIMS To Hold Second IPMX Product Testing And Certification Event
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), in collaboration with the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), has announced the second IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event, scheduled for Aug. 24–28 at EBU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
Open to AIMS and VSF member companies, the event is designed to expand the growing ecosystem of IPMX-certified products while introducing formal certification for a range of new capabilities developed as part of the IPMX roadmap.
The Geneva certification event follows a members-only interoperability session scheduled for July 20–24 at the Matrox Video facility in Montreal, Canada. Described as a "dirty hands" event, the session will provide participants with an opportunity to test new IPMX developments ahead of formal certification, continuing the pre-certification interoperability model used throughout the IPMX program.
Among the new capabilities expected to be certified in Geneva are the Host Key Exchange Protocol (HKEP) and HDCP handling for protected content, along with the Privacy Encryption Protocol (PEP), which is designed to enable interoperable content encryption across multi-vendor deployments. Certification efforts are also progressing for HEVC and AVC compression profiles, reflecting industry demand for more efficient media transport across existing network infrastructure.
IPMX is an open set of standards and specifications that extends SMPTE ST 2110 media transport and NMOS-based control beyond traditional broadcast applications to markets including professional AV, live events, corporate communications and education.
The certification program builds on the initial group of 48 certified products from 11 manufacturers introduced at ISE 2026 and continues to evolve with additional capabilities intended to address the practical requirements of real-world IPMX deployments.
