Canal+ Executive Axel Gallant Appointed As Irdeto Chief Executive

Canal+-owned cybersecurity specialist names Gallant to succeed Doug Lowther, with a managed handover in place.

Irdeto, the digital platform cybersecurity company owned by Canal+, has appointed Canal+ executive Axel Gallant as its new Chief Executive Officer.

He replaces Doug Lowther, who is stepping down after leading Irdeto since 2015. The pair will work together through a transition period to ensure continuity.

Gallant has been with Canal+ since 2013, overseeing pay-TV operations for the Group across Africa, Europe and Asia.

Lowther previously served as Executive Vice President, Digital TV, at Irdeto, broadening the company’s product portfolio to support emerging services including video-on-demand and streaming TV.
