Irdeto signs agreement with IDway

Irdeto, the proven expert in content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile networks, has licensed IDway, a leading supplier of software solutions for digital TV consumer equipment, to integrate Irdeto’s conditional access technology with IDway-J middleware solution.
IDway can now provide an integrated software solution to STB manufacturers who want to quickly mass-produce STBs (cable, satellite or terrestrial) for network operators who want to deliver an interactive end-user experience with the unparalleled protection of the Irdeto Digital TV conditional access system.
IDway-J middleware, which is fully compliant to DVB standards, includes a customisable user interface with Western and Asian languages support and optional PVR extensions. In addition, it provides a pre-certified version of the Irdeto Digital TV client software. This means that the time necessary for the rigorous testing of an STB is decreased, ensuring a quicker time to market while still ensuring that the end-consumer receives a high-quality STB that will work according to their expectations.
This software solution is now available on different hardware reference designs and will be extended to new chipsets during 2006.
